Patrícia J. Reis is a media artist, researcher, and lecturer based in Vienna. Her artistic and research practice engages critical and sensorial approaches to technology, employing hacking, ecofeminism, and sensoriality as strategies to question systems of control and critically address the complexity of contemporary technological, artistic, and societal systems. Patrícia’s work has received major recognition, including the Prize for Media Art from the Edith-Russ-Haus für Medienkunst in Oldenburg (2016), the Outstanding Artist Award for Media Art from the Austrian Federal Ministry (2021), and a S+T+ARTS Prize nomination (2024). Her work and research have been widely exhibited and published internationally. She is a Post- doctoral Senior Researcher leading Hacking the Body as the Black Box (Elise Richter-Programm) at the Uni- versity of Applied Arts Vienna, where she has lectured at the department of Digital Arts since 2015.
