A walk through the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant, past the shipwrecked remains of the RV IMA and its stranded crew

Against the Current Setting Sail for the Past – and Future – of the IMA

Following an accident and being propelled through a temporal vortex, the time-traveling research ship RV IMA makes a crash landing on the Danube – directly in front of the Zwentendorf power plant. The fact that the crew is only four years off target, having landed in 2026 instead of 2030, turns out to be a lucky twist of fate: The ship could not have survived another time leap.

The tempoaral vortex has caused grave damage to the code of the ship’s AI system, Tim. Its central systems, the deepest core of the ship, have been destroyed. They are based on an ancient speaking machine from the previous millennium, and this and only this machine is needed to get Tim working again. Without it, the RV IMA is stranded in the year 2026.

Alas, the machine has been missing since stardate 227.9190, or in Earth time: since August 21, 1996. For exactly 30 years.

A coincidence? Will Captain Schimana and her crew manage to locate the original device so they can get Tim up and running again and put the RV IMA back on course? (Klaudia Zotzmann-Koch)
