TYMPEL (Tympanic access point)
Along the Mühlbach fortification, the first public access point of the tympanic network is growing. It’s only partially explored system of underground sound lines — possibly extending throughout the entire park — finds a new node here.
The tympanic sound architecture integrates seamlessly into the existing substance of building, erosion and growth and remains open to unplanned repurposing — even by life forms unknown at the time of construction.
Whether the emerging structures are resonant bodies, event spaces, or vessels for sound storage is not clearly defined. What is certain is that the tympanic network not only sounds, but also listens.
