is a cultural and media theorist who currently holds an assistant professor position for media studies at the University of Siegen. He graduated in 2005 with a thesis on the history of room acoustics from 1600 to 1900. Between 2006 and 2008 he was working as an assistant professor for media studies at Humboldt-University Berlin. His PhD-project traces the history of sound and auditory display in the sciences since 1800. He is the editor of the recently published book: Axel Volmar (ed.): Zeitkritische Medien (Timecritical Media), Berlin 2008.
