(Univ.-Ass.), currently teaches Cultural Studies and Media Studies at the Institute of Architectural Theory, Art History and Cultural Studies at the Graz University of Technology. Previously he was Interim Professor (Jun.Prof.) for media technologies and media philosophy at the Institute for Media Studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum. He is the author of numerous works on the history of media and the media philosophy of auditory culture, recent publications: Die Übertragung der Stimme. Vor- und Frühgeschichte des Sprechens im Radio (Berlin-Zürich 2006); Politiken der Medien (Berlin-Zürich 2005)
