Franziska Butze-Rios began her career in restoration and conservation as a trained bookbinder in 2003. From 2006 to 2011 she earned a degree in Restoration, Art Technology and Conservation Science from the Technical University Munich with a focus on paper, books and photography. Since 2014 Franziska Butze-Rios has been a research associate at the Center for Museum Collections Management at the Danube-University Krems. Working together with managers of the Department of Restoration at the State Collections of Lower Austria in St. Pölten, she is responsible for the conservation of the collections’ graphic arts, photographs and time-based media.
