is lecturer at the History of Science Unit of the University of Regensburg in Germany. He studied physics and history of science at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. His research interests include nineteenth and twentieth century physics, history of scientifc instruments, and scientifc heritage at universities. In recent years he has been working on different aspects of the history of acoustics and technical physics in the interwar period.
