The concept of „commons „ runs through the areas of Marie Vermont’s artistic work, both visual and acoustic. It is about impressions of places that can be simultaneously entered and animated by several living beings without consumption. From stays and recordings at these public, undesigned non-places, fragmentary field recordings and drawn translations of movement sequences for further confrontations are created, as well as finished works (scores, recordings, settings and installations). These outside world artifacts find their place alongside soundscapes created from various boxes powered and wired together and combined with percussive elements. These simultaneities can be heard, seen, read, and/or played depending on the format - aspects like wind and weather as well. The duplication and reproduction of them occupies a large space, mostly in the form of cassettes, with and without contributors.
